Using one large print fabric, layering the repeats in the fabric design, and then sorting the hexagon blocks according to colors, you can get some beautiful quilts. The hexagons require 6 repeats of the fabric design down the length of the fabric to make the hexagons. They each turn out to be one of a kind kaleidoscope blocks. This is such a fun quilt to make because each block is a surprise when you lay out the 6 triangles after you cut them out. You will also learn how to make fabric cubes to add to your design. You can make any size quilt you wish to make. You will always need the 6 repeats of the fabric design. If you wish to make a large quilt you will need a long repeat such as 16” – 24” or in the case of a short repeat such as 8” – 12”, you will need a double repeat so you will get more hexagons.
